One of the best guitarists without doubt, but some material can be a bit harsh to the ear. His 1995 'Joe Satriani' album is my favourite, some cool sounds and expressive licks and great interaction in the band.

Shredder with more melodic expression than anyone else in the genre. Unfortunately, he doesn't put the same effort into his rhythm section, which can get monotonous.

I'll give credit for his playing. He's at the top of the game. I just don't find his music that nice to listen to. It's too much technique, not enough humanity.

Just a guitar master. He taught Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai, and Alex Skolnick. He understanding of guitar is mind-blowing. He is just THAT determined and talented.
Some of his albums have been classics that connect with where I've been in life. Others are just good background music.
