Top 50 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:

AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 85.0/100, a mean average of 82.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.2.

I wub this list. It's a bit short on modern stuff, but there were several heartwarming choices on here, particularly Tarkus.

@ RFNAPLES - Thanks. I quite enjoy the bountiful amounts of music the 60's has to offer.>>>
@mikeyskywaler - It's such a great album, under appreciated in a way, like many other albums. Some of the oddballs are the best in my opinion, like no other. Thanks.>>>
@Applerill - Yeah, I'm slowly getting into modern things, a bit at a time. If they allowed more albums my next 10-15 are mostly 90's-Present. But Alas, this will do. Tarkus is quite nice.>>>
@ffudnebbuh - Ram is so good, and that's a wonderful song. Like all the others.

Some very neat choices (I dig a lot of what you have selected), but this list's shortcoming is the utter lack of diversity. You have Bob Marley's great "Catch a Fire" near the end. It would be cool to see some more selections like that.

Lots og great pics. Good Taste! However, I do not understand how Kid A and Loveless can be that high up on a chart. You are in company with a lot of people, but what have you heard that I haven't?
