A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Very good chart.
You ranked a lot of my favourite artists very high: Miles, Tom Waits, Velvet Underground.
So I like it.
(Maybe a little bit too dark and neurotic?)

John Coltrane and Death. That cracked me up! Great the way it shifts gears back and forth between metal and jazzy/avant garde type stuff. Very unique tastes.
