Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Nice chart! I've heard most of your picks, first time I see the View anywhere mentioned on this site, which was a pleasant suprise. Just one thing, why did you rank Angles this high? For me it was an utter dissapointment after waiting five years.

I'll get the bad out of the way first: I was shocked and confused to see Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as your top Sabbath album, Hemispheres as your top rush album, and anything but Enthrone Darkness Triumphant as your top Dimmu Borgir album. That being said, there is quite some variety here, as one can see by the bands I just listed. I do respect that, while you do tend toward classic artists, you don't automatically list their most popular albums. And that's a nice personal touch.

Alot of diversity and great selections here, really solid chart! I haven't listened to a portion of them so can't say on those but really good from what I have.
To answer your question about Kid A and Loveless, I suppose it really comes down for me, enjoying atmospheres of some albums, of course there's alot more but everything comes together nicely throughout each song, and album wise they're very unique, and just great albums in my opinion.

I admire your taste for picking "Angles". I wonder what would be the best song? "Machu picchu", "Under cover of darkness", "Taken for a fool" or...?! glad you like The Strokes and also Led zeppelin, Muse, Arctic & Red Hot Chile Peppers Anyway.
