Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Even with so much Radiohead focused in the top 20-ish, this is still a fantastic chart. It's a little too focused on the 21st century, but that's the stuff I like the most. It seems we have pretty similar tastes, so there's definitely some stuff I should check out here.

I can't get behind some of the artists (The Mars Volta, Muse) but it's not too bad for someone who likes the sound Radiohead and the artists they've influenced make. I'd recommend a band called Ours for you to check out at any rate.

I agree with the others, your chart is very nice though kinda lot of Radiohead (even an album from Thom Yorke). Gotta try the artists from your chart such as Dredg :D

Don't get me wrong, I think that Radiohead have made some of the best albums of all time but for my taste, a little too much in your chart. Having said this, still a really nice chart.

Not a bad list at all. Maybe cut down on the Radiohead. I know they make great music but a bit of variety now and then is good. This coming from a Cure freak.
