Contains my favorite Dylan song of all time, "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands." Upon first listen, I was reminded of a Liz Phair song off of Whip-Smart "Nashville." A that point, I didn't have a copy on CD, but immediately drove to Twist & Shout to pick one up. Another Twist & Shout anecdote: when I initially started my Dylan phase and was buying two or three random CDs at a time, I picked up the self-titled first album and "Nashville Skyline." When I brought them up to register, the cashier called me "Karma Boy" and explained that she had listened to both, that very day, on her drive in from Boulder. Now the odds of me picking any random two CDs in the store and to get those two CDs seems utterly staggering and made me doubt my staunch (at the time) atheistic beliefs; for it seemed that such an occurrence could not just happen, but must be fated in some obscure way. It still seems like one well of a Jungian synchronicity.

The album that started me on my Dylan obsession. Bought this after I decided that "Like a Rolling Stone" was an awesome song. My early favorite on this was "Ballad of a Thin Man," though it has since shifted to "Desolation Row." "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" was my the best live song at my first Dylan concert, at the Fillmore.
