I loved the music when I heard it on Peel, but I remember trying to buy it and because of the name of the band, I felt as if I was buying something unclean and had to pluck up a lot of courage to say the name of the band to the shop keeper. I was very young and naive.

I'm 49 and this brings back great memories of John Peel. Here's a few more names that might ring a bell from the Peel show during the early to mid 80s (the golden age):
