Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 84.4/100, a mean average of 81.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.3.

My apologies, i mispoke. I never could get into that album (i do own it and gave it a valiant effort). in all fairness a list w/ 4 albums in the top 10 from the 50s and 70s cant be to bad. 2 of my 3 fav decades for music.

c'mon its a good list that expresses a knowledge and variety of music so I think its fairly obvious that he is putting it in because he truly likes that album not just because everyone else does.

And why the flippin' fuck does harvos hate older music so much? Its not like its 20s music or something, and its better than the shit that comes out these days.
