Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 3% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 80.4/100, a mean average of 79.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.8/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 20.1.

Great band, original but also poppy down to its very core. Fun and deep.
Brillantes.
According to Michael Pollan's "How to Change Your Mind" book, one of LSD's early adopters said that it made her experience the world "through the eyes of a happy and gifted child". This is the kind of feeling that Animal Collective specialize and excel in projecting in their music. I think that a few decades from now, they will be considered just as important to popular music as The Beatles. They took psychedelia to the next level.
two words: very unique
I went a whole year thinking I hated this band because I didn't like Merriweather Post Pavilion only to be blown away by Spirit They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished, Feels, and Strawberry Jam. If you like Merriweather Post Pavilion, there's nothing wrong with that, but if you don't like it, try their other albums and don't dismiss the whole band as I did.
Spirit They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished > Feels > Strawberry Jam > Merriweather Post Pavilion > Sung Tongs
I'm a big fan of AnCo. Although there's been ups and downs of who's in the band, they still manage to push out some really good albums. Not the most consistent artist I'd have to say. I appreciate that they're going in their own creative direction with their latest two albums, but it does seem like they're catering to the party crowd a little bit. Ultimately it's up to them, they probably got bored of doing the same-ish kinds of music so they're experimenting, all power to them, I'll still give it a listen every now and again to see if I can get into it.
The real noteworthy albums you will want to listen to are (not in order): MPP, SJam, Feels, STongs, STGSTV. There's some other cool albums but these are the ones that I'd say are their best work. Give them a listen, especially if you've only heard their latest stuff.

I've loved these guys for so long, but I can't deny that I've been a little disappointed with their output post- the Fall Be Kind ep. I was hoping Centipede Hz was just a misstep, but I guess they're sticking with the MAXIMAL WOOGLY-GOOGLY SOUNDS AT ALL TIMES vibe. And I say this as someone who digs the maximal woogly-googly aesthetic as a rule! I just miss the days when AC could get hushed and intimate. They sound like they make music strictly for the outdoor festival circuit, and more power to them; their songs, however, are no longer aimed directly at my heart.
The other side of this, though, is that as AC goes "off the rails (for me, at least), their solo work just gets better and better. Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks and Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper were leagues beyong Centipede Hz and Painting With.
Damn. These guys are brilliant.
Fresh and original. They recreated the psych music genre completely.
