FOR GIRLS THAT GROW PLUMP IN THE NIGHT is my favorite Caravan album. I think it's the viola that makes it (has anyone ever said those words about an album before?). lol
I would recommend 'For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night' as the 2nd most interesting Caravan album after 'Grey and Pink'. Three tracks stand out(Memory Lain,Hugh/Be Alright-Chance of A Lifetime/A Hunting We Will Go). Enjoy!!!
Agree that 'Grey and Pink' is a fine album. I also recommend 'If I had to do it...' and 'For Girls Who Go Plump In The Night' as well worth checking out.
The music of “In The Land Of Gray And Pink” is spectacular in its essence, rich with texture, intimate, with swirling melodic melodies of fantasy, which were going to inspire so many in the future. There is no urgency to the music found here, it simply flows over you, engulfs you ... the keyboards are unlike anything I had heard before, and when those are mixed with outstanding lyrics, a more then creative bass line, and a crisp clean drum, we were presented with something so totally new, so very tight, something that was nothing short of sublime.
