Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Really interesting mix of classic rock and indie pop. Some notes would add to the strong personality that's already there!
I like the chart but it lacks a bjork album with homogenic or vespertine

Really like this chart! Love how high you have UFO. We don't have a ton in common for our overall chart but we both have Overpowered by Roisin Murphy! That alone makes me want to check out the more obscure stuff on your list.

Great choices man, but is Somewhere in Time really your fav Maiden record? That's pretty interesting. Nice to see The The, UFO and Mother Love Bone. Rush for the win!

This is a great chart; there are some odd choices which add to the texture of the chart and some odd ones that do not. Great though.
