For the period up to and including Moving Pictures Rush were one of my favourite bands. Since then I just can't get into them. Believe me I've tried

Rush is one of the most amazing bands on the planet. They've been at it for more than 40 years putting out very consistent work since the start. Though my favorite era of Rush, music wise, was from Caress of Steel to Signals, the rest of their work isn't as dull as people believe. Today they are tighter than ever, and they are simply very good people. What's not to like?!

Please forgive me, but I still can't really stand the singing voice. Which is a pity because it prevents me from fully enjoying a band that's otherwise very very good.

La mejor banda de hard rock-progresivo, desde su segundo album de estudio "Fly by night"('75) al décimo "Grace under pressure" ('84)alcanzaron picos máximos de creatividad. La segunda mitad de los ochenta los encontró demasiado imbuidos con el sonido del sintetizador, pero poco a poco retomaron el sonido de la guitarra como elemento principal. Su último album "Clockwork angels" ('12) los muestra en su mejor estado en décadas, y ya se habla de un nuevo clásico en su discografía. Rush es de las pocas bandas que con cada disco han ofrecido algo distinto, y cada album suyo garantiza, sino el total, no menos de la mitad de temas de altísima calidad.

Like the songs Tom Sawyer and Limelight and one or two others but have never been able to get into them much. People keep on saying they are underrated, but really, they aren't, everyone knows them.

I bet many people who first hear Rush think there are at least 4 people in the band. That is how well they sound and obviously I'm not the first to say that here. They are just one of the most fun bands to listen to and sing along with.

The thing I hate about Rush is that they suck. Actually that's not the only reason. Rush is one those bands that people claim is underrated or that no one knows about them, but in reality, they are probably one of the most famous bands out there. Juno put it best when he said they struggle with lyrics. Really, their songs have no good lyrics. Now, as players, they play their instruments extremely well, there's no disagreeing with that, but unfortunately that talent is wasted on making songs that just don't go well as a whole. They have a few good songs and that's about it.

Fantastic musicians. An exceptional body of work spanning nearly 40 years. Great live show - and boy, do these guys work hard for their live corn - 3hrs + and no slacking. Just an awesome band.

The kings of music as far as I'm concerned. They've been my runaway favorite band since 2004, and I don't see that changing. Their proficiency at their instruments is great, sure, but they are wonderful songwriters as well. Peart is a great lyricist even though he'll pen a few duds here and there. The band isn't the most consistent in the world - some of their albums have throwaways - but they experimented, changed their sounds, and -progressed-. Some say their music is cold, but I would argue that quite a few of their songs convey real emotion. "The Pass", "Emotion Detector", "Available Light", "Ghost of a Chance", "Red Sector A", "Afterimage"....I could go on and on.
