There is a lot to explore in this record and that made it a pleasure to listen to as I was kept entertained throughout. There are also several moments of bliss, in which everything seems to click and just works perfectly together. This shows how much potential there is in this artist and makes me extremely excited for future projects as there is room to improve and become even better than this. Due to the high praise I saw I was a little disappointed by the record on the whole as I wouldn't say the quality is at the top level so it isn't amongst the greatest of all time. Overall, a great album and definitely worth a listen as I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Maybe not as lush as it has been described in the past, but the vastness of this record and its songs is unparalleled in the genre.

Thankful for this site. I'm sure this album will be one of 2019:s best experience.

An eccentric, melodic, ethereal, and overall gorgeous pop record.

Whereas other dreampop bands like Beach House have achieved an immersive sound through serene synthesized production and sparkling guitars, this album finds its heavenly sound through more organic instrumentation. A lot of the textures on this record are created by layered vocals, harpsichord, and double bass.

While it might not be as tight of a soundscape as Loud City Song (a highly thematic record) it makes up for this in its diversity from track-to-track. Even when Julia is trading bubbly pop songs like "Feel You" with dense mystical soundscapes like "Night Song", the album is consistently beautiful and the variation gives the album really great pacing.

I cannot find a single noticeable flaw with this record; every single song feels vital to the overall whole and each tidbit is an enjoyable listen (although "How Long?" and "Vasquez" could be a bit of a challenge when heard outside the context of the record).

10/10.

Best album of 2015!
It is a really solid album, no weak songs.
Definitely her best album so far.

Julia Holter has become perhaps the decade's most un-paralled composer, it's amazing how she connects so many knotty, cerebral strands of music and manages to make something so melodic and purely beautiful. The only really dissapointing thing about Have You In My Wilderness is that it follows the instant classic Loud City Song, and it's an album full of lovely individual pleasures rather than one seamless, all-encompassing vision. However, very very very good Holter is better than almost everyone else, and while Wilderness isn't her absolute best it's still a wonderful and completely satisfying listen.

Her best album so far. It's beautiful, full of mystery and wonder. A lovely record that keeps getting better with each listen.
