"Title track provided an inkling to his genius and would've fit in well with any of his later 80s albums. Controversy weaves through this synth-funk delight climaxing with the final track, "jack u off"."  Reply

"A tightly packed offering of a few different beautiful stylings of Samba. Great melodies, cool arrangements, unexpected vocal jumps. Can’t imagine this not being an enjoyable listen for a majority of people."  Reply

"Great great Dream Theater album. Not a bad track on the album, not even Vacant, in fact it's a brilliant lead in to arguably the greatest instrumental in their catalog, Stream of Consciousness. In the Name of God is one of the best album closers of all time."  Reply

"Enormous, noisy, maddening, and altogether absolutely beautiful. "Pronk" is a terrible, ugly word for what it is (almost "IDM" terrible), but The Cardiacs somehow managed to merge the elements of progressive rock with the spirit of punk without looking like complete idiots. Sing to God is their d..."  [+]  Reply

"To me, My War is the story of side 2 of Damaged taken to its final bleak conclusion. Not a pretty picture I'm afraid. A lot harder to route for our protagonist at this point. From a completely musical point of view, Damaged is a far more varied and thus to me more interesting. Quite unique to see..."  [+]  Reply

"I really like how minimalistic and raw this feels, paired with the screeching, dissonant VU-esque violins in here every so often, it really has this really great quirky vibe to it. I can imagine just a bunch of friends jamming in a garage and thinking "fuck it, let's get it recorded". Also it's p..."  [+]  Reply

"Fantastic album that rewards multiple listens. Be Calm is brilliant, I Wanna Be the One has an infectious hop in its step, Light a Roman Candle With Me is perfected love pop and The Gambler is an excellent use of gospel choirs"  Reply
