"Darker than the previous DBT albums, Decoration Day benefits from fine songs by Jason Isbell, as well as some different takes on subject matter, from incest to suicide to Southern feuds. Souther rock is alive and well, thank you!"  Reply

"Where do I even start with this album? It represents such a massive shift in the sound of Lenker, the beginning of the band that would come to be her most well-known musical outlet, it indicates a distinct leveling-up in the power of her songwriting, and this is the first time I have heard that i..."  [+]  Reply

"Terrific album I’ve owned since the early 80s. Has concert staples such as Sinner and Diamonds and Rust (Joan Baez cover). Has the wonderful ballad Last Rose of Summer coupled with the proto-thrash metal Dissident Aggressor. I’d say this album, along with Sad Wings, is a must in anyone’s collection."  [+]  Reply

"I don't typically love garage rock, but Dinosaur, Jr. has landed something really fun and energetic here, a grand, chugging album that doesn't let up until the very end."  Reply

"This album puts the lie to the popular myth that Chuck Berry's music started to fade away around the same time that the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, et al. emerged covering his stuff. His songwriting is as strong here as ever -- side one is packed with now-familiar fare like "Little Marie" (a seq..."  [+]  Reply

"So there’s a problem with The Killers and this problem has existed, it seems, for quite a while. All of their songs are blending together. It seems like with each album, they’re not making any progress. “Hot Fuss" was an awesome album, I loved it and I remember when it came out. Their sound was d..."  [+]  Reply
