"It's one of those albums that's great when you have a hangover, or maybe on a road trip, but isn't necessarily artistically cutting edge. Nevertheless, Barnett still stars as a lyricist on an album that otherwise bears Vile's stamp in terms of music."  Reply

"I just don't understand how people have not acknowledged this album for all its dreamy, heavy, shoegazing beauty. Just a great outing by three superb musicians. Check out Subzero Fun, Turnstile Blues, Blanket, Sugarless"  Reply

"I struggle to warm to this one - it feels like they're trying to repeat Thick As A Brick, but don't quite make the mark. It has its flashes, but I don't return to this one as often. The last of their prog-heavy records before they momentarily became poppier, before exploring English folk influences."  Reply

"It never used to be like this. Gorillaz used to provide quality pop music that was both ambitious and cohesive. "Demon Days" & "Plastic Beach" may have had quite different tracks on each record, but both works were undeniably striking as a whole. Unfortunately when the overloaded Humanz dropped l..."  [+]  Reply

"“Crash” sees Charli XCX move from hyper pop into more conventional styles. The sound is a combination of contemporary pop and 80’s revival. Overall, this is crafted very competently though lacking a special touch. The choruses exist in the realm of memorable enough to recall but not to be stuck i..."  [+]  Reply

"Much better than MC5 indeed, than the NY Dolls as well, and about as great as The Stooges at their peak. Some really dirty-ass proto-punk with furious guitar riffs, a flawless record, and it's only 25 minute long. Get on it."  Reply

"This is a really good album, almost sounds like a Beatles' tribute/pastiche at times especially on the wonderful Laura, a kind of John Lennon psychedelic ballad, and the drony, Scandinavian skies. The middle eight of surprises sounds just like George Harrison too. The first half of the album is p..."  [+]  Reply
