"Really cool album. It's a step in the direction of "Hope" as a opposed to "Cope," which while I prefer the variety of sounds, emotions and dynamics captured in Mean Everything To Nothing and Simple Math, it's still a very interesting album and I also think that following in the quieter direction ..."  [+]  Reply

"Their first album as a rock quintet, with leader Arnaldo Baptista changing from bass to keyboards (Liminha, who in the next decade would become an important producer/studio owner, is the new bassist). Not prog rock yet (they were more creative and fun than most prog rock bands), but they started ..."  [+]  Reply

"Holy cow this is an awesome album. Not the Destroyer I'm used to. Much earlier sound, more like Velvet Underground meets indie rock? Somewhat Dylan plus some Bowie musically? Mountain Goats? Whatever it is, it's fantastic!"  Reply

"Not only is this enjoyable pop, but the lyrics are either very witty, or very powerful. 22 is cruelly depressing, Chinese was the sweetest song I've heard in a while, Back To The Start was disturbingly relatable, and Him gave me chills. Very strong piece of work here."  Reply

"Essential listening in the "Mott the Hoople" catalogue, and one of the great albums of the seventies. Stand out tracks are "All the Way from Memphis," "Hymn for the Dudes," and "I wish I were Your Mother," however there isn't a weak song on the entire album. Although Mott's LPs "All the Young Dud..."  [+]  Reply

"I think I like Atlas Sound even better than Deerhunter, but then I listen to Deerhunter and the opposite is true. Two great bands who prove to me that even when I reach my nineties there will almost still be great new bands out there to discover."  Reply
