"Ween have always been good at switching up styles within the same album, but on the single occasion that they buckled down and hammered out an album of tunes of the same genre, they really fucking hit it out of the park. Even with all the cringe-worthy mainstream country songs with overused chord..."  [+]  Reply

"Good Times is a legendary and highly influential song, worthy of a mini-doc of its own. Following the lead single is a collection of consistently good songs. None come close to the initial peak, but offer organic and tight grooves that vary from yearning slow jams to slick mid-tempo dance numbers."  Reply

"Not only is this enjoyable pop, but the lyrics are either very witty, or very powerful. 22 is cruelly depressing, Chinese was the sweetest song I've heard in a while, Back To The Start was disturbingly relatable, and Him gave me chills. Very strong piece of work here."  Reply

"The family jewels has plenty of duds and honestly wouldn't suffer if a few songs like "I am a robot" were cut. Despite this there is a lot to love on here. The fusion of baroque and electro pop creates a memorable sound. Marina's voice and lyricism do a good job creating personality."  Reply

"honestly I was impressed by this album, I thought that after Torches they would just fade out. And even though this album has no NO.1 single like "Pumped of Kicks", it might be even more consistent, creative, and more daring album. Enjoyable pop for all that it matters."  Reply

"Their first album as a rock quintet, with leader Arnaldo Baptista changing from bass to keyboards (Liminha, who in the next decade would become an important producer/studio owner, is the new bassist). Not prog rock yet (they were more creative and fun than most prog rock bands), but they started ..."  [+]  Reply
