""I mean democracy without the color line..." I only discovered Josh White this year upon digging into 40s music more. Oh man - his guitar tone is the best and that voice is so warm. I love his diction/execution/timing. Instantly a favorite. Wish I would've found sooner. Well and then I listen to ..."  [+]  Reply

"Liz Phair has had an inconsistent career. Exile in Guyville was such a shot across the bow for the music industry and for female artists. Whip-Smart was dull and unfocused. He latest work reeks of misdirection and sell-out. On Whitechocolatespaceegg, Liz Phair feels confident enough to experiment..."  [+]  Reply

"Oozing with Mellotron washes, Mellotron flutes and Moog Modular ratcheted sequences, this album follows on where Ricochet left off with a more melodic musical structure. Where Zeit, Rubycon and Phaedra were predominantly sound collages, this album helps the listener more easily form those vast ex..."  [+]  Reply

"A collection of uniformly brilliant Kraftwerk songs. In fact, this album sounds so brilliant that it doesn't even sound live. A timeless compilation from a truly timeless band - even their "Electric Cafe" stuff sounds excellent here. If you're a Kraftwerk fan, or a general electronic fan, do not ..."  [+]  Reply

"I love these guys, but unfortunately for me this a small step down from their first two albums. It feels as though there is less spontaneity and energy, though it isn't too detrimental. They definitely have a lot more focus on intricacy and atmosphere, which is always nice. Still highly recommend..."  [+]  Reply

"Steve Miller Band's debut album from 1968 is quite different from their more familiar sound and style on albums like "Brave New World", "Number 5" and later "The Joker". Half of the album is classic blues-rock style - solid but without very much personal character. The rest of the album is more s..."  [+]  Reply

"One of the most promising albums of 2016. It is short (25 mins) and sweet, with synths and reverb layered over stirring vocal performance. Most of the songs are reworked from previous projects, and half deal with the passing of her mother to cancer. "Everybody" is a home run while "Heft" and firs..."  [+]  Reply
