"Experimental and interesting, but has a tendency to be shrill, unnecessarily repetitive and frankly annoying. A difficult album to get through, only redeemed by the clear intellect behind the way it chooses to experiment."  Reply

"The songs on i idle by in a more languid mood than many of those already featured in Stephin Merrits oevre, if anything, this adds to rather than detracting from the album, lending it a unique and a much-appreciated appeal. Cool."  Reply

"Kanye's my boy and I love his music, but let's be honest, it's a disgrace Born Sinner is lower than Yeezus. This is easily the better album that came out Tuesday. The lyrics on this album blow Kanye's out of the water. I listened to Yeezus then this and I'm so glad I did. J. Cole sold me by the e..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is good, but not great. A Horse Called Golgotha and Swollen Halo are both really good songs. I really like the instrumental intro and outro to the album, I think it adds a certain atmosphere. But there is some filler here. Overall I'd say it's worth a listen."  Reply

"I feel this album is unfairly overlooked because there are many borrowed ideas from previous metal bands. So what? Not every record has to be groundbreaking. This is an enjoyable homage to 80s/90s metal, with some great guitar licks and solos."  Reply

"(A bit of an odd album. When I hear it, it's as real and tangible as that pond on the desert's horizon. And when the album ends, its as gone as ... well, that damn pond. Anyway, shitty attempts at poetic metaphor aside, this is a strangely gauzy, smoky, ethereal album that flows effortlessly and ..."  [+]  Reply
