"Ray and that great Hammond B3 organ along side the Count Basie Orchrestra deliver a fantastic swinging performance! "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town" is one of my favorite Ray Charles tunes (It can be heard closing out an episode of The Sopranos). Other stand outs: One Mint Julip I've Got..."  [+]  Reply

"Chocolate City is another George Clinton masterpiece funky and soulful. Most of the tracks are uptempo except for the soulful love song I Misjudged You,which along with Together and Big Footin' are the best tracks."  Reply

"Although not as powerful or commercially successful as their next album, the Supremes showed up to introduce their talents to the world. Perhaps, they needed more fine tuning at this point, but that would be rectified with their second album. A decent album."  Reply

"Truth be told I’ve always loved The Fall and in particular main man Mark E Smith who’s reputation as a surly nonconformist is no contrived act 1988’s ‘The Frenz Experiment’ is a seemingly forgotten Fall album but it did complete the best one/two punch of their career coming on the back of the pre..."  [+]  Reply

"This is a brilliant record - an AOTY contender for me, and I say this with some confidence as a long-term fan of the band - this is their best release (IMO) in a career going back to the mid-1990s. A shot in the arm to the corpse of post-rock!"  Reply
