Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 5% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 78.6/100, a mean average of 80.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.0/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 10.8.

Status Quo are in a category of their own. I love The Sex Pistols and Mozart and have an eclectic taste in a broad spectrum of music and arts, yet the truest depiction of honest rock n roll comes from Status Quo Mk1 & Mk2. I had an epiphany at the age of 9 when I heard DOWN THE DUSTPIPE, 2 MINS OF GLORIOUS BOOGIE in 1970. When my cousin played Piledriver in 1973 when I was 12 a wave came over me and the rest is history. As a human I need oxygen, water, food and Status Quo!!!! I'm Alan from Australia and I effin' love Status Quo!!
I am a very tough judge of music in general, I have to state that I regard Status Quo MK2 to be absolutely brilliant and fantastic. I love Lancaster and Coghlan immensely, met them both, separately, Lancaster is a lovely man. Status Quo's mediocre output is still way better than other bands-e.g. Perfect Remedy 1989. Don't Stop covers album should never have been recorded, Francis hates it. Status Quo has made life on Earth enjoyable, when I get down and depressed, put on a QUO album. I get very emotional when it comes to the joy and pleasure this great rock band has brought to me ever since I heard Matchstickmen and Down The Dustpipe. I love Status Quo!!!!!
I think it was the singles which made them very famous. The albums seem to take second place to individual songs. I mean a greatest hits album has passed a lot of the studio albums. Do any BEA users wear their hair like them as well? These are things I want to know!
The Frantic Four yeah love that era mid 80's onwards not as good but still a great band to see live you know you've been to a gig afterwards
great 70's output and still an excellent live band.
You must like the two guitars of Rossi and Parfitt. Not a great album band though and their later half of the career is awful.

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
