The best New Romantic band. They started as a glam rock band on 1978 with them album "Adolescent Sex" but, to 1979 they change them musical style turning into a New Wave/Synth Pop band and releasing three amazing records witch are "Quiet Life", "Gentelmen Take Polaroids" and, them masterpiece "Tin Drum". The last one incorporing lots of influences from oriental music.
In my opinion, one of the best ever bands and with some of the best ever albums -even "Quiet Life" was included on the book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" and, "Tin Drum" was voted by BBC 6 Music as the best album from 1981.
Japan were light years ahead of their time and created some incredible experimental and innovative music before they split.
