Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Can't beat a bit of Bush, Morrissey and The Cure. Love your chart. And so cool to see Amazulu and Julee Cruise. Bring back memories, those two.

Wow!! I get excited when I see a chart by a person so intelligent that they KNOW that Bouncing Off The Satellites, Bright Red, Golden Age of Wireless, Hazel O 'Connor, Milk and Kisses, and ESPECIALLY Lene Lovich, are indeed among the greatest albums. Its so rare to see these great albums on this site that I was getting a little suspicious of the people here. But you've made my day, and possibly my life..lol Bravo.l

A rarity - a Top 100 album filled with fairly unusual albums... and the unusual albums are mostly really good!

I love the love for the Waterboys and Sinead. You're probably not gonna find much else in common with my chart but I appreciate your appreciation of some under-appreciated talent.

Kate Bush is one of my favourites. Morrissey solo records ahead of The Smiths is also very interesting. I loved Sinead O'Connor THE LION & THE COBRA
