A instrumental album, in two ways, in make up, and in how it was for me in my life. So much beauty, a gem. [First added to this chart: 09/18/2015]

What can I say, the first time I heard this album, it felt like some divine creature made it specifically for my ears. Tell Me Why opened it, and the quality never dropped, you could say it just got better and better. Birds and After The Goldrush are standouts, in a consistently amazing album! The musician that has done more for my progression in music, as a young teen I was listening to a lot of alternative rock, and not much else. The first time I heard 'Trouble' I instantly fell in love with his voice and then brought on my love for folk rock. Anytime I listen to 'Burn" it can transport me back to being 13 years old, it can transport me like no other track probably can. Funny old thing music. [First added to this chart: 03/25/2013]

My favourite Tom Waits album, one of my favourite artists. This bluesy/bar/ballad album is just wonderful. To the sadness of Martha, to the beautiful Grapefruit Moon, and the nostalgic song of Ol' 55. I love this album [First added to this chart: 03/25/2013]

Nick Drake, is just a genius, this album is all just him and his guitar (except the dubbed piano in Pink Moon), I love the intimacy. Road, is a track that at one time I could relate to, and his misery helped mines. [First added to this chart: 03/25/2013]

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.5/100, a mean average of 86.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.3.

a rather interesting chart, the picks I agree are really good (romantic works being somewhere in the depths of my 2010s decade chart). However, I don't see how such works are necessarily deserving of being this high up on an all time chart.

With that being said its still a really nice collection of what are all still great albums.

Good chart! Very original and full of classics. I am surprised to see one album by an unknown artist, and also of the 2014. it would be really great if you can add some descriptions to the chart, in order to now why yo like it. Anyway, nice chart!

Nice, but some bands i really do not like.. I´ve seen some country music, and wonder why no Townes Van Zandt placed there.. Regards.

Rating heavily influenced by the inclusions of Explosions in the Sky and Elliot Smith. Springsteen is an anchor to your chart.
