Well this is less a GREATEST MUSIC ALBUMS OF ALL TIME list and more a list of albums I've been completely obsessed over the years. The Pastels Illuminati is a remix disk that would definitely be a desert island disk of mine, though there's a Motown remix disk that's pretty cool, too. I probably would have picked a larger collection of Little Richard songs, but that first album cover is amazing. There are a few best of collections here, but I those are the albums I know them by. I tried to put them in some kind of order, but it was pretty random in the end.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. I love this chart! However, if you are using the 'one album per artist' rule, cut it. It's a lot nicer to read an artist-heavy chart than to see a 'one album per artist' chart. However, if that's just coincidental, then I'd recommend listening to more from the artists you love.

Love "Pink Opaque", "Spangle maker" is one of my most favorite albums tracks also, love Neko Case and "real Ramona", "Honeychain" is an amazing song(I remember driving around Death Valley on my way to Yosemite with "Real Ramona" playing on my car cassette player, every time I listen to "honeychain", I think of being in the desert..It is one of those great songs that has become lost to history but should have been regarded as one of the few 80s classic songs...
and really like the Joanna Newmsome album....do you like "The Fox Confessor"...really like "Madeline vs. Pauline"..another amazing song...
There are about five albums on your list that I don't know, and our charts our completely different but really appreciate your taste.

I disagreed with almost half of your list, but good grief the other half was fabulous. I loved the Superchunk, Big Star and Soft Boys inclusions. God bless you Shamp30! They are all woefully forgotten bands that deserve much better.
