15 big ones by The Beach Boys... well, almost! Opener "Rock and Roll Music" wasn't the most successful choice of song to cover, but otherwise nothing but an adorable album that contains a few great original compositions besides the majority of charming cover versions of oldies. A guilty pleasure, but essential if you're a fan of nostalgia!

The real start of David Bowie as weird and spacey and now adopting "the thin white duke" persona. There's a lot of funk and soul thrown into the mix. The title track despite being 10 minutes long goes by like that!

Spending a day at the races is nearly as succesful as spending a night at the opera. I'm not so sure about the Japanese lyrics in "Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)" though!

With the title "Thirty Three & 1/3", you would've expected an album with a duration of 33 & 1/3 minutes perhaps, but the album is in fact 39 minutes & 1/4 minutes long! It includes "This Song", Harrison's satire on his court case with plagiarism of "My Sweet Lord". Overall, a strong and, compared to any previous George Harrison album, more upbeat collection of songs, at times quite funky and soulful.

ELO's mission: set a new world record! While not exactly the best-selling album of all time, not in 1976 either, ELO did win many new fans and had their big commercial breakthrough with the album. Practically perfect with only catchy songs and even big hits, ELO ensured stardom with infectious feel-good power and a universal sound that belongs to somewhere above the clouds. So fine an album it is!

The arrival of some of the finest, catchy pop tunes of all time. Knowing ABBA is knowing the beauty of existence. Truly life-affirming, delightful and heartwarming. The peak of the Swedish Beatlemania!

Desire for more Bob Dylan? You've come to the right place, my friend! This is another great 70s Dylan album which has that extra magical something just like "Blood on the Tracks" had, but with more exotic instrumentation such as violin soloing, accordions, mandolins, loads of female background vocals and so on. Should satisfy any Bob Dylan fan, but might also be able to convince non-Dylan fans who weren't sold on his stuff from his classic "ground-breaking" 60s era as it's sonically a completely different deal.

Songs in the key of Stevie Wonder. Lots of them! A gorgeous, ambitious journey of quality funk/soul.

Slade are nobody's fools. They just do their dirty work delivering a varied package that both rocks and "pops"! A perfect album to get on up to.
