Stimulating, but impossible to actually settle down with. An album this crazy and crazily creative and catchy will instead make your senses working overtime!

- "Meanwhile, we shall sing top hits from the '80s."
- "Which '80s, sir?"
- "For me, there are only one '80s."
Duran Duran are as 80s as can be. Shiny, almost provokingly catchy tunes that glitter and sparkle with pompous danceable beats and a major musical explosion once the chorus kicks in. If you're hungry like the wolf for the 80s, this album should be able to satisfy you greatly. Enjoyable to the max!

If Michael Jackson was the king of pop, then this is his castle, trophy room or whatever. With 7 giant hits and guest stars including Paul McCartney and Eddie Van Halen, MJ shoot himself into complete stardom. This is as 80s pop as anything could ever be, but the songs are still somehow quite timeless, an unmatched achievement that will forever stay in the heaven of pop music!

On land, but not necessarily on this planet. Essentially, it's the soundtrack to any unknown, foggy, humid jungle full of dangerous living creatures. Unsettling, but fascinating!

A real 80s effort by Paul McCartney. That includes tacky 80s pop, but also more tasteful songriting of Paul's softer side including "Here Today", his moving tribute to John Lennon who had died less than two years earlier. The album's main weakness though is the super cheesy duet with Stevie Wonder, "Ebony and Ivory", a very good song actually, but feels highly overplayed in no time.

A beast of an album. More precisely, the number of the beast of an album. The 80s were awesome!

If you're longing for a perfect balance between melancholia and transcendence, you've come to the right place. This sacred space of music unfolds itself in the most gorgeous, haunting way!

Earlier Roxy Music albums may be more artsy and cool, but they don't equal the beautiful lush jorney to the mysterious land of Avalon. Adult-oriented, 80s slick and heavily synthesized, yes, but too smooth and soulful not to love.

Another beautiful vision made of Celtic rays by Van Morrison, only this time a little cheesier. A really nice sit-back-and-relax Van Morrison album.
