Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.1/100, a mean average of 86.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.3.

So good to see someone outside the US/UK bubble sharing & recognising a good percentage of artists/albums from their home country. Quite a unique & personal chart. Loved seeing lots of outsiders in this chart, including 2 from Lou Reed (Magic & Loss/New York) & Joe Jackson amongst some undisputed 70's classics. Sadly, nothing from south of the Equator.
Lots of German and Swiss artists who I've never heard of, all of them going straight onto my wishlist! The stuff I do know, I love. I'm looking forward to continuing to listen.
Really like this chart.
I like very much you put in your chart German bands and what is a bit out of norm is your start with classical music but i like it because i said it in the sentence before i like German music. And you like also John Lennon good chart. 90 points
exceedingly interesting chart! I would love to see some more comments as to why each is your favorite. Particularly for your #1, as its an album ive loved for a long time, but have never thought of as being #1 material.
Also, what might you recommend as a starting point for getting in to classical music? maybe pm me your suggestion, I'll forget to come back to your chart
Top 10 is top notch, although I'd probably replace Stone Roses with something else, but clearly others love that album/has merit to be in your top 10, so just ignore that comment. haha. Anyway, solid list showing your love/understanding of good music! Really like your number 1.
Interesting and eclectic chart!
I need to put Yello and Visage in my 80's chart. I used to love those when I was really young. But I forgot all about them somehow.
Yeah was interested to see what your top 100 was like after seeing so many 1980's charts. I have a lot of your stuff and like it and will test out some of your German influences. See you like a good bit of Lou Reed and can suggest the Strokes as a more modern feel on a par with New York sound
