I once asked my father what he considered to be the worst album he has ever heard. His answer, though it was not necessarily relevant here, was Love Beach by Emerson, Lake & Palmer which he referred to as a 'damn abortion, even by their standards.' He then asked me what I would pick.
I told him that there were two albums that I found so unspeakably, offensively awful that I thought it would be better if they were simply marred from the annals of music history.
Those two albums are Blurryface and Vessel by twenty one pilots.
He had not heard of them, so he went and listened to them and came back to say that they are 'god-awful,' calling Tyler Joseph's voice 'horrendous.'
It is honestly very fortunate for twenty one pilots that Pitchfork has never reviewed one of their albums because they would rip them to shreds. Unfortunately, Pitchfork does wield a pretty big knife for bands claiming to be 'indie' or 'alternative.'
