Top 15 Music Albums of 1979 by WillyMac 
1979 was a pivotal year for rock music. Rock was in the doldrums by this point and if it weren't for these albums and a few others, we might still be listening to arena rock and disco. I have chosen these albums as being the ones I know which ushered in the 1980s. These artists all had fresh and creative sounds and while there may be some question as to whether these are the very best albums of the year, they had out-sized influence and were harbingers of what was to come.... thank goodness...
