Someone put this album on at college while we drinking beer. I knew all the songs (and a fair share of the lyrics), but I didn't know why I knew it. As far as I can remember, I had never heard it before. It was a weird deja vu feeling. I staggered up out of the beanbag I was sitting in and grabbed the album. Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde. Hmm. I drove home that weekend and pawed through my dad's albums. There it was. I showed it to him. "Did you play this a lot?" "Oh hell yeah, I used to play that all the time."

The album with one of the best origin stories ever. Neil had recorded a follow-up to Harvest, which was the last thing he wanted to do. At a party to play the tape, the new album was played (I think I was to be called Homegrown) and then someone turned the tape over and the raw Tonight's The Night was played. Neil realized THAT was the album he had to put out.

I saw this on Rolling Stone's list and it seemed like such an unlikely album that I immediately played it. My wife and I turned it off about half way through the first album, thinking it was terrible. Two years later and we can't get away from it. Is there anything more additive than some of these songs?

Takes me back to my childhood in the 70s more than any other album can. It has all the 70s vibe of a Hula Hoop or a gal in a crotchet halter top and bell bottoms.

I can't understand why I don't see a lot more of Nillson Schmillson. Maybe enough people just don't KNOW it anymore. If they did, well, it would be in the Top 100. Its in MY Top 10.
