This list showcases my Top 10 personal favorite albums by one of my favorite songwriters and artists, Bob Dylan. The list may grow to 15, 20, 25, etc after a while as I get more familiar with Dylan's back catalog, but this is what it is for the time being. I doubt the majority of users on here are unfamiliar with Dylan's work, but to those who are unfamiliar, here is a taste of the man. I would love to see some comments, what is your favorite Dylan record?

The Crown Jewel: The good ol' songs of heartbreak. Dylan connects to the listener in this mostly stripped down acoustic record more so than ever before or ever after. Deserving Runner-Up: Blonde on Blonde may not have some of my favorite individual tracks like Highway and BIABH, but it plays through a bit better from start to finish then the aforementioned albums. Bob and his band cover a wide space of musical ground and make a classic double LP. [First added to this chart: 06/22/2016]

In my opinion, this album is so overshadowed by its predecessors, Highway 61 and Blonde. It's an all time classic with some of Dylan's best writing and lyrics. The album's final 4 songs might just make for the best closing of an album ever. [First added to this chart: 06/22/2016]

Dylan took a huge step forward in his sophomore effort. The Freewheelin' sees Dylan in a more angsty and political state of mind than on his debut. Masters of War gives me chills even after numerous listens and still rings true after over 50 years. [First added to this chart: 06/22/2016]

An often overlooked record (I know because I’m guilty of it). However, there is a good feel with a lot of these songs and of course a number of ear-catching lyrical turns. Hey there ~ your top 5 are spot on (although some days I might re-arrange the order ~ although BOTT will always be #1 for me). I have been a Bobcat for over 50 years and have done my top Dylan albums chart (65 albums. in fact). My love of Dylan has extended into some custom charts of albums featuring Dylan covers ~ which has been a real blast in researching. Anyway, look forward to seeing how this chart progresses. BTW - bit too early to give the chart a rating. Cheers,

sorry, I made a booboo and actually forgot to put the Bob Dylan Chart back on Public after I dusted it off and updated some comments etc. It is indeed now available for you too look at in all its Mercury-review circa 2013 anti-glory!

im stoked I discovered this. Great start and I agree on your number 1. Nice notes as well. I had a similar chart i was working on for months then ran away from about 4 years ago, and this inspired me to make it public again. You may like it and I'm curious your thoughts.
