Her influence is a bit scattered around everywhere and hard to recognize, but when I looked up whether The Cocteau Twins were inspired by her which I myself found a bit of a stretch once the idea entered my mind, and actually found that they namedropped her, I was sure I was not being crazy. Even Grimes named her as an influence.

After the punk explosion it should’ve been clear that this can’t go on forever - no matter how bad their conservative (musically) asses wanted to - so Joy Division came and showed that punk can evolve and that doesn’t make it less punk. All the while they created a sound that would be copied by almost literally all new wave artists in the ‘80s, be it from the synth pop party or the punk party; these guys stood exactly in the middle.

Fantastic. Giorgio, Blondie's first album, Gary Numan, and all Kraftwerk's best albums (including my own number one album of all time Trans Europe Express) and all the Chics. And Tusk, Bee Gees.
