Choosing which album fits a slow/sadcore chart is rather difficult, especially when the genre is criticised by the artists themselves (Low, Codeine or Bedhead having often refused the "slow" tag).
Most of the albums derive from alternative rock, with multiple descriptors from post-rock, dream pop, post-hardcore, americana to indie folk.
To avoid a Low / Mark Kozelek / Galaxie 500 heavy chart, I've listed one album per artist (with other classic selections for each artist).
