Tell me 1 person who doesn't love this guy. No one can dispute that he has created many masterpieces. What makes me love this album the most is how he puts together an album that combines the slow, passionate acoustic guitar version of Neil. Then side 2, its rock heaven with his band Crazy Horse. A band, that to this day, still rocks with Neil.
After all these years, Neil still plays rock and roll offbeat. His voice creaks. His guitar shatters windows across the street. His music is divided into soft pretty folk ballads and loud, pretty rock ballads. His band is crude and tough.
That's the background: on this album one side is acoustic folk elegy and one side of unbelievably brutal Crazy Horse rampage. His greatest songs are here. On "hey, hey, my my ", heavy tribute to Elvis Presley and Johnny Rotten that lives up to the credo" its better to burn out than fade away". If you never played Neil, this might be the best introduction! It will leave you craving for more.
No one does it better than Neil Young. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]

LZ is sometimes credited with inventing heavy metal. That's an understandable misconception, given that few songs bring the godless thunder like " When the Levee Breaks". But Zep's scope was far wider. The orchestration of bass, drums, guitar, and voice into music. This is not only a great album but a piece of modern art.
The first 6 productions by LZ are classic and masterpieces. Anyone of those albums could be in my top 10-easily. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]

The group never was able to escape the shadow of Syd Barrett, the original "lunatic on the grass". The Wall is Water's big rock opera. A sensitive musician oppressed by the world, including his wife, mother, gov't, teachers, etc... It's not their best work, but growing up in high school in the 80's, the wall struck a nerve and I became very fond of this album.
Still its a piece of history and it does have some great songs. For me, it was the last croak of vintage Floyd.
Can we count the amazing creations by PF? There has to be at least 5-7. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]

Above all, the musicianship is first rate. The Who always created a tension that always seemed ready to explode, but their was an air of sophistication behind the brute force. Quadrophenia is a exemplary set of 70's hard rock. No other contemporary rock band could crank out songs like "The Real Me", "The Punk and the Grandfather", or "Love, Reign O'er Me".
Quadrophenia is the definition of Absolute rock heaven!
The Who, in their heyday, were incredible. the band exhibited the energy and soul of rock. Their live shows where the 6th wonder of the world. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]

They are still around today, celebrating 50 years as the world's greatest rock and roll band. They started out as a British blues band, but what they played was rock & roll. This double album greatest hits, for me, states that I love all the stones music between 1964-1971. All those albums were sooo good. Everything they created was amazing during this period.
Can anyone imagine, what a life, Mick Jagger lived?
Truthfully i dont know how they keep going. they just love to play. They made so many great albums. The band should be in a old folks home rocking out the place. but their music lives on. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]

On this album, springsteen adds more bite to his music.
Man, does he ever light up the guitar. No other Springsteen album has this guitar intensity.
Promised land, candys room, adam raised the cain, racing in the streets. This album is pure rock joy.
Every song on this album is KILLER. When being introduced to Springsteen, start with this diamond in the rough, you will be hooked in no time. The funny thing about this album, you can play it at volume=1 or volume=10, it doesn't matter because it sounds so incredible no matter what the volume is. [First added to this chart: 12/06/2018]

Joe is the Wayne Gretzky of hockey.
He is the Houdini of magic.
He is the Tesla of electricity!
Although I like many of the other virtuoso guitarists I've always felt Joe has a special gift for writing beautifull melodic pieces that put him at the very top.
For me, this album is like boiling a frog!! Just when you think Joe has hit the climax, the next song gets better and better---"Friends", "The Extremist", "War" .
And then he follows it up with "Crying".
The whole album is a true tour-de-force.
There are not enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe how phenomenal this guy is on the guitar and as a human being. the best thing about his shows , is the reasonable prices he still charges. You don't have to leave your hard earned paycheque at the box office to see this master guitarist. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]

This band is so incredible.
Either you hate them or you love them.
no in between.
And man, is this album fantastic.
Now with neil peart in heaven, this album has taken on a bigger and more special sound.
its hard to imagine that only 3 musicians were behind this fantastic sound. [First added to this chart: 12/06/2018]

On this live set, a crack band led by guitarists Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner blast their way through the supercharged renditions of "sweet jane", "heroin", "white light/white heat."
if you love lou reed or electric guitar you will like this album.
but if you love lou reed and guitar, you will love this album. [First added to this chart: 12/05/2018]
