"This 1984 album laid the groundwork for the development of post-rock electronica for the next 25 years and you can hear the Cocteau Twin's influence on nearly every contemporary electronica/dance band. The atmospheric sound, crafted around Robin Guthrie's creative use of distorted guitars, tape l..."  [+]  Reply

"YES..... yesssss.... The dirty churning angst on this recording is so very raw, yet understated... powerful beyond explanation.... This is not the "Dance to the Music" Sly... This is the ruminatin' dark and burnin' out Sly... a hard rude awakening coming over the war-torn survivors of the Sixties..."  [+]  Reply

"I remember when Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds toured this album. Theyopened with Into My Arms and Cave had a terrible time with the first line "I don' t believe in an interventionist god" it took him 4 or 5 gos to get through it and ages to complete the song. Had seen him live a number of times but..."  [+]  Reply

"This album still sounds great today, it currently sits at BEA 501 Overall and 100% deserves to sit inside the top 500 I recall seeing Tracy Chapman live at the zenith of this albums mass popularity. "The only thing that holds this back from being a 100, because this album might otherwise be perfect, are "Barry Bonds" and "Drunk and Hot Girls." Just misusing Mos Def like that? Come on, Kanye. Other than that, "Flashing Lights" is my absolute favorite Kanye song, and in my top ten favorite song..."  [+]  Reply

"Percussively, I listen and just think: "why aren't more people doing this?" and "why hasn't anyone done something like this in this way before?" Yes, it's good. It's inventive, creative and just... very very percussive. There is a feel of all the sounds being created w/ kitchenware utensils and p..."  [+]  Reply
