Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 62.9/100, a mean average of 46.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 46.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 26.8.

Well I really like your list and love how it is a personal favorites list too with the some great classics that are in my Top 100 too. Love how you have Boom Crash Opera album 'These Here Are Crazy Times'. Love that album and the band.

ah yes...many lonely nights listening to neutral milk hotel, crying and cutting myself (must have been the dope). i should point out that grunge is filled with self contempt...and your chart is full of it(king of angst: see kurt cobain). i mean...in your top ten alone you have two bands with lead singers who killed themselves.

Gollux, I wasn't dissing those albums. I like OK Computer and Nevermind, and I can understand why they would be in anyone's top 10 or even top 5; they're great albums. Really the "extremely cliche" part was a bit superfluous, but I was just pointing out that even the few good entries are cliche. After the insulting comment I received on my chart, I couldn't help but throw a little insult in there.

sincronicity is a great album and is, in my opinion, list worthy...but im going to have to agree with joanne on most of the other stuff. although her comments about ok computer and nevermind really mak me wonder if she puposely overlooks these great albums simply because its "cliche" to like them.

Pearl Jam are overrated. They're just OK.

I won't even respond to your insulting, condescending, and arrogant post on my chart. I will just to tell you that aside from Grace, the extremely cliche OK Computer and Nevermind, your list consists of the worst music of the last 20 years.
