Great year. Hard to pick an order of favoritism. Even those in the final few placings are still fantastic albums

92.50 Zeppelin is a strange beast. So many fantastic albums. The hard thing I find for myself is which I think is best. Goes in circles. Led Zep II held the title for many years. IV was always knocking at the door. But over the past few years III has been the one I keep returning to and loving everything on it. So it holds the title. For now. All hail the Zep.

91.72* The Doors are such a legendary band. They just kept putting out top class albums. This being yet another. An album of absolute supremeness. Fantastic from start to finish. My favorite of all Doors albums

90.71 The album that is the true birth of heavy metal. A fantastic debut album on any level. Still defining the sound which was to immortalize them. There cover is 'Evil Woman' is great. As is the mainly instrumental Sleeping Village/Warning. One of their better albums. Never forget how brilliant this is.

88.428* The debut album from the classic Mk2 Purple lineup. It's a cracker with probably my all time favorite Deep Purple song Child in Time on it. The songs I didn't know also pump, which is always a joy. Many years ago in an issue of Classic Rock, there was an article where a heap of rock and musical guns and legends named what their all time favorite Deep purple track was. A number of them said 'Flight of the Rat' which is on this. I'd never heard it before getting this. A great discovery. Well worthy of the accolades. It's a shit hot deep cut. Gotta love the Purple. 10/25

85.42* This took a bit of warming up to but getting better and better with each listen. My version has 14 tracks on whereas the one listed here only has 6. The sum of all parts equals greatness. John Entwistle is the king of bass players. Keith one of the kings of drumming. 06/25

85.00 The forgotten and ignored Floyd. This deserves much more accolades than it gets. There's a couple of places where they go off on experimental noise segments that let it down a fraction but overall it rightly holds it's place in the magnificent Floyd canon. Deserves to be placed higher than some of their albums ranked above it. 03/25

83.272* I held off getting any Creedence albums for a long time probably due to them being so thrashed in my party days as a youth, I was over saturated hence never bothered getting anything from them. But this is so loaded with such well known gems. Well worthy of the high accolades it gets. 08/25

80.60* Packed with great songs. Transports you to another era. Recapitulates the 60's sound perfectly. I'm glad Neil Young didn't monopolize the vocals on this. I find his is not a harmonizing voice, even though with the songs he takes lead on he does a good job. 05/25
