Dateline 11 August 2023:
I was deeply saddened that 2 of my favourite singer/songwriters - Robbie Robertson & Sixto Rodriguez - both with albums in my top 100 chart - had passed on the same day, 2 days ago - 9 August 2023.
Looking back at the year, I realised that so many amazing songwriters & musicians, who have made my life richer, have passed - and so I thought it would be appropriate to create a chart to recognise and thank them.
This will be a work in progress - beginning with Rodriguez & Robertson - my fear is that a chart of only 100 will not be enough to honour all of them.
Dateline 2 January 2024
2023 has now passed and I have 99 recording artists listed in this chart - I have listed them in order - corresponding to the degree to which I have been enriched by their creativity, songwriting and musical brilliance. May their legacy shine long.
