Top 10 Greatest Music Albums

The one rule that I stuck too when creating this chart is one album per band, so great albums like Nevermind, Surfer Rosa, Sandinista, Sign O' the Times, 13, practically every Bowie album, and biggest of all THE BENDS by Radiohead did not make the cut. I would also like to talk about some tought cuts, Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream, Brian Eno-Here Come the Warm Jets, Beach Boys-Pet Sounds, Queens of the Stone Age-Songs for the Deaf, Sly and the Family Stone-There's a Riot Goin' On, Echo and the Bunnymen-Ocean Rain, Buzzcocks-Singles Going Steady, Wire-Pink Flag, Soundgarden-Superunknown, Pavement-Slanted and Enchanted, New Pornograhpers-Twin Cinema, Bob Dylan-Highway 61 Revisited, Beatles-Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band, Television-Marquee Moon, Wilco-Summer Teeth, XTC-Skylarking and Drums and Wires, Husker Du-New Day Rising, Garbage-Garbage, The Cars-The Cars, Roxy Music-Country Life, Jimi Hendrix Experience-Electric Ladyland, Frank Black-Frank Black, Blondie-Parallel Lines, Black Sabbath-Paranoid, New Radicals-Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too (really underrated), Replacements-Let It Be, and lastly Harvey Danger-King James Version. You can see that a lot of these albums I just mentioned aren't exactly validated to be on these lists since they are not universally recognized by other accredited lists, but I still believe they deserve recognition.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

I think this is one of the best top 10s in the site and if you decide to enter more albums reflecting your personal tastes I think it will trully be one of my favorites
