Best Moment: Almost impossible to pick, however, at the end of the break down-esque middle section, when Ed sings "Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me" behind Thom's "That's it sir, you're leaving, the crackle of pig skin..." until "God loves his children, yeah"

Best Moment: A day in the life to typify and climax the album, breaking the boundaries of what pop music is capable of as it fades out in a hectic, claustrophobic orchestral work of genius.

Best Moment: "The only girl I've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes, but then they buried her alive, one evening 1945"-that song still gives me goosebumps every time i listen to it, despite the 302 plays it has attained on my iTunes.

Best Moment: "Along again or", that whole song is pure genius, so any moment when the brass instruments join in the "And i will be alone again tonight my dear".

Best Moment: Another album where I think the first son has the greatest impact; here when Kurt sludges out "Well, whatever, nevermind" I think is the most effective as it ties in with the name of the album, rigt before we know we're going to here the chorus again, having already fallen in love with it.

Best Moment: Every song is a complete gem, but my personal favourite moment is at the end of "Hard to Explain", when Julian's voice is cut off to finish a masterpiece of a song, which cuts up the album perfectly as it offers that little bit of something different the album needs to turn from slightly too similar to pioneering brilliance.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. As far as charts go I'm pretty big on variety, but this is a solid rock-centric list. RItual is an eyebrow raising choice (beyond the singles and "Three Days" I find it far inferior to Nothing's Shocking)

very solid collection of albums. i would love to see more picks from the 60s, 70s and 80s when you have the ability to expand your chart. i like the "best moments" in your top 10 as well.
