"Cat's best album. Half of the LP is still played on the radio daily almost 50 years later. Peace Train, Morning Has Broken and Moonshadow are iconic songs of the 70s still known in most households today, and for Cat fans songs like How Can I Tell You (one of the greatest love songs goin round) an..." "These songs stay with you. Later in his career Waits would tell stories about dashed dreamers, but here you feel that he's really one of them. A very moving experience." Reply

"A record that is a tale of two sides with one being extremely mellow and delicate and the other being aggressive and loud. This contrast works brilliantly in my opinion and it makes both sides stand out more effectively. It benefits the second half a lot more with songs like Hero sounding far mor..." [+] Reply

""John Prine" is a delightful folk album easily up there with the likes of "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme", "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" or "Sweet Baby James." Admittedly, it's greatest weakness is that the songs can sometimes be a hair trite ("Hello In There") However, the album works very well..." [+] Reply

Honky cat, I think I'm going to kill myself, are strong cuts, but the best without doubt is, rocket man, one of Elto..." [+] Reply

"Whatever else you say about this album...it's definitely unique. The lyrical content has a certain sense of of humor and the music is certainly different from most of the heavy arena rock bands of the day. It's a bit corny at times, but it definitely gets points for originality." Reply
