"You can hear the beginnings of later Stones in What a Shame. Heart of Stone is a favorite. Down The Road Apiece shows how amazing Keith was even early on. Some of the best guitar playing I've heard that early... almost beats out Chuck Berry."  Reply

"Released originally in 1965, this album featured eleven tracks by the smooth singing Brazilian; the Verve Record Label supplemented the original album with 14 more Astrud Gilberto sung tunes in 1990 and released the new offering in the Verve The Silver Collection, maintaining the original album n..."  [+]  Reply

"Warm, open-hearted, and playful...I don't know if Rahsaan was like that, but he must have been; his music is. It's imaginative and care-free, not avant-garde or cutting edge. Feel-good music from a guy who can pull that off; it's a shame so many people can't get into it, judging by the ratings, b..."  [+]  Reply

"The track listing for this is completely up the spout. The original UK issue maintains a much more bluesy feel, omitting amongst others ...Watchtower, Remember and Crosstown Traffic and adding Highway Chile, ...Midnight Lamp and a couple of B-sides. For this reason it's worth having as there's a ..."  [+]  Reply

"Not as good as, Truth, but an enjoyable and raw album. Beck is on fire here but overall the record doesn't have the coherence of it's predecessor. Still a gritty little rock'n'roll album though."  Reply

"The Lovin' Spoonful consistently churns out catchy tunes, blending influences of rock, pop and folk in a fairly cohesive way. The title track is the album's highlight, but there are a fair amount of other great tracks to speak of including 'My Gal', 'Fishin Blues' and 'Did You Ever Have to Make U..."  [+]  Reply

"Their 'first' self titled album is actually their UK debut record. There is a real energy here and Steve Marriot is on superb vocal form. Some great tracks here, all served up with Gusto and passion, oh, and anyone who thinks that Led Zeppelin's, whole lotta love, is an original piece of work rea..."  [+]  Reply
