Plus Beres Hammond’s 1986 self-titled, which isn’t on the database yet. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
I have never been so impressed by so recent a release for a decade and a half – since I first heard The Milk-Eyed Mender, probably. The chanting and percussion on La Grande Folie is utterly unique and captivating even when you cannot understand a word of it,
Scored about 50 78s from 1945 and 1946 from Gene Krupa to Stan Kenton to Count Basie to King Cole Trio to Benny Goodman to The Andrews Sisters to Peggy Lee to Ella Fitzgerald to Louis Prima to Tommy Dorsey to Jack McVea.
Unfortunately my 2 most favorite 40s artists, Billie Holiday and Glenn Miller, I did not score anything from. But still a great steal (gifted).
