"Having never listened to a Thundercat project, I didn't know what to expect but I sure didn't expect a love letter to Tokyo and Goku. Even on first listen I can sense so much character in it and I'm really looking forward to getting to know the album better. Also can I just talk about that cover...." [+] Reply

"This record together with Soundgardens "Down on the upside" was symptoms of an era that was about to end. The newer era, Britpop, was already rising, and people were about to have enough of the harsh and dark metal sound, and prefered another more quiet and soft sound (Radiohead), when it came to..." "I will shamelessly admit I had no idea who Mdou Moctar is prior to listening to this album, so you can easily imagine it was quite the experience, something like a punch in the face. The first thing I noticed is that - in my opinion at least - the production’s handling is exemplary. Despite addin..." [+] Reply

"System of a Down is my favorite band. This album, their last before hiatus, is the 2nd part to the Hypnotize/Mezmerize 2-CD set. A little faster-paced than Mezmerize, it has some amazing tracks, and the more you listen to it, the deeper it becomes." Reply

"Anyone who appreciates late 60's psychedelic rock should check out this dangerously trippy masterwork. Hints of The Beach Boys, Donovan, Pink Floyd and The Beatles all filter through the tracks to make a kaleidoscopic sound, probably best heard with a decent pair of headphones on. I'll be seeing ..." "One of the three albums that began stoner rock, this album has a lot going on melodically beneath the surface, which is why it is not just another Black Sabbath clone. The vocals, soloing, even base fills are playing harmonies which give the feeling of depth under the wall of sound power chords. ..." [+] Reply

"Mingus's own personal favourite of all of his albums and not hard to see why. Constructing "buildings of jazz" it seems in deferrence to the primitism of much of the jazz fusion wave that was around at the time. The architects have hit the spot and the view from the top floor is impressive. Shame..." [+] Reply

"It's so richly dense in texture and sound that it is quite mesmerizing. The vocals at times feel a bit too samey but there is enough variety in the melodies that it does not take much away from the experience." Reply
"What a beautiful time to be 15 and still wonderful to hear this album again. Maybe we all still underrate it. Yes, The Smtihs captured the feelings of more teenagers, but they never reached this beauty, clear like a scottish stream. "We could send letters" may contain the most beautiful words fro..." "My favorite Eagles album. I think the concept works well here, contrary to some others. It's not exactly How the West Was Won, but not bad for a rock band's old west concept album. Outlaw Man is a great song, and Tequila Sunrise, Desperado, Out of Control and Saturday Night are no slouches, either." [+] Reply
