"Their strongest offering was deinitely the first in my opinion....this carries on the trend of being slightly inferior to the previous album. "Definitely underrated, with such a strong start. The last track with John Darnielle is also unstoppable. Ace never did get enough attention, though. "You ain't sh-t man, your story's a joke / You should package it with a last smoke and six feet of rope."" Reply

"There is no way a monkey could ever type Hamlet, but I am pretty sure a monkey or at the very least a group of monkeys could create a similar album to Animal Collective's Danse Manatee. "Definitely fun, though for me the tracks are better individually than they are as a whole album. There's just not enough variation that keeps me engaged throughout the duration despite the strong energy. Regardless, Let's Stay Friends has some fantastic material that is worth checking out." Reply
"The singles off this albums are some of the best sounding recordings that you can find from the period. They're very well written and benefit from the wide array of sessions musicians employed, especially John Paul Jones. Stevens' voice lends itself much better to softer songs like "Portobello Ro..." "Another amazing record. Follow up to A Piece of Strange the following year. I'd describe the sound as being lighter than its predecessor. Notable songs: Valley of Death, K.K.K.Y., Georgia, Gun, & Dirty Acres." Reply
