A Big Departure for Benatar and her band - they forego the arena rock anthems of their entire career to issue an album of Chicago Blues Standards and originals. This set that Benatar gives her all to whatever material she crafts, and that she could be successful in this milieu, too, if she chose it. Benatar is sassy and gritty and her husband Giraldo strings together some blues licks worthy of B.B and Albert. The band is augmented with guest musicians (horns from Roomful Of Blues) so the sound is authentic - for this album they have done away with the synth sounds that over-powered her last few releases. I very much enjoyed Benatar performing this style. I wish she would have continued along this vein.
