While always being into music, I have only really started delving into the album format since 2019. I started off by listening to every record in the book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" by Robert Dimery before expanding my search for albums onto this site.

From Late 2022 to Early 2023, I listened to the "500 Greatest Albums of the 1960's" from Uncut. This will be why that only 60's albums seemed to be moving around my chart at that moment in time. As a list, I feel it is a very well balanced list of popular music from this period and is worth checking out if you, like myself, were not alive to experience these fantastic years of music.

Will try to add descriptions to each entry as and when I can.

Alternative Rock - Indie Pop

This album has been rapidly climbing my list ever since its release. Wonderfully grand, yet it is also riddled with fragility, especially in Wood's vocal (who left the band citing mental health during the rollout). It is perfectly imperfect. Beautiful yet flawed. The best album of 2022 and it's not close at all.

This album is a comfort blanket of beautifully pure sounding guitars and climactic crescendo instrumentation. Never has post rock sounded so soothing and so beautiful. This album spawned a lot of clones of this blueprint but none can quite match the atmosphere and the beauty of the original.

@Arthurknight Can an album ranked 253rd be slept on? Because I certainly feel that Foxtrot is slept on with regards to the Genesis catalogue and it is my personal favourite of theirs. Absolutely love The Flaming Lips but when you listen to so much good music, there are going to be tough cuts. That's the fun of the limit of 100 though right? Got to make tough decisions. Thanks for taking the time to go through my chart, shall go and return the favour with your chart now:)

I was not expecting to stumble onto Genesis Foxtrot while going through this list, but you're right! It is the best Genesis album and Watcher of the Skies is truly magical. I can't help but cry at seeing things like Soft Bulletin get sharply excised in your edit notes but it's a fun exercise in advertising your process.

Probably the most similar chart and music taste I've ever seen to my own on this site!!!

Loving the appreciation for Godspeed/Silver Mt Zion, seen them live twice (as well as Efrim solo) and off to see them again next week, genuinely never seen a band that is so good live!

I also began working my way through the '1001 albums to hear before you die' a number of years ago, so maybe that's where a lot of the similarity comes from.

Will definitely be listening to the 22 albums I've not heard on here :)
