While always being into music, I have only really started delving into the album format since 2019. I started off by listening to every record in the book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" by Robert Dimery before expanding my search for albums onto this site.
From Late 2022 to Early 2023, I listened to the "500 Greatest Albums of the 1960's" from Uncut. This will be why that only 60's albums seemed to be moving around my chart at that moment in time. As a list, I feel it is a very well balanced list of popular music from this period and is worth checking out if you, like myself, were not alive to experience these fantastic years of music.
As of 2026, I have now worked my way through Uncut's Top 500 album lists for the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. Overall, It's been a great experience to go through. I highly recommend it.
Will try to add descriptions to each entry as and when I can.

This album is beautifully mesmerizing and is truly unlike anything I have ever heard before. Any words I put here feel like an injustice to just how much of a fantastic experience this album is. Simply Stunning.

Brilliantly unique vocals, fantastically frantic pace and some of the best song writing you will find. This is the Ultimate Indie-Rock album.

While it may not reach the incredible heights of the acclaimed Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven, that doesn’t take away from the pure mastery at work in this debut album. The starter track, The Dead Flag Blues is all that you want in a GY!BE album. The static, radio frequency like noises, the sounds of everyday events like car doors opening that make it sound like you are eavesdropping in a vacant and post apocalyptic world and, best of all, you have the perfected timing of an instrumental build up to some other worldly crescendos of chaotic music. Following this up, you have the extremely sinister East Hastings. A single, eerie guitar line sets up a very dark, frantic and explosive rabbit hole of music for GY!BE to explore. The result is simply fantastic. It is hard to explain, but GY!BE have the ability to make instruments more emotionally charged. For example, the violins at the start of Providence are some of the most haunting, yet sad and isolated violins you will hear in music. As well as this, the simple guitar strings being plucked on the highlight East Hasting sound so sinister and so purposeful. It is truly a unique art that few have mastered, and what an incredible art to have at your disposal. This is a must listen for all music fans.

@Arthurknight Can an album ranked 253rd be slept on? Because I certainly feel that Foxtrot is slept on with regards to the Genesis catalogue and it is my personal favourite of theirs. Absolutely love The Flaming Lips but when you listen to so much good music, there are going to be tough cuts. That's the fun of the limit of 100 though right? Got to make tough decisions. Thanks for taking the time to go through my chart, shall go and return the favour with your chart now:)

I was not expecting to stumble onto Genesis Foxtrot while going through this list, but you're right! It is the best Genesis album and Watcher of the Skies is truly magical. I can't help but cry at seeing things like Soft Bulletin get sharply excised in your edit notes but it's a fun exercise in advertising your process.

Probably the most similar chart and music taste I've ever seen to my own on this site!!!
Loving the appreciation for Godspeed/Silver Mt Zion, seen them live twice (as well as Efrim solo) and off to see them again next week, genuinely never seen a band that is so good live!
I also began working my way through the '1001 albums to hear before you die' a number of years ago, so maybe that's where a lot of the similarity comes from.
Will definitely be listening to the 22 albums I've not heard on here :)
