This record brings the great vocalist singing the repertoire of bossa nova's major composer. It's comprised mostly of ballads instead of sambas, so it's less exciting and more endearing. A classic, beautiful album.
The most well-known track is opener "Águas de Março"; not the best recording of the song (that's João Gilberto's, released in the previous year), but the most popular. Another track, "Por Toda A Minha Vida (Exaltação Ao Amor)", is played in its entirety in a very moving sequence of Pedro Almodóvar's "Talk to Her".

Elis's delicate voice goes perfectly with the heartbreaking lyrics and the complex but simple sound of bossa nova. This album is wonderful and timeless.
